Menard Field Day

Menard Field Day

Don't let Friday the 13th scare you away! Join us for Field Day on Friday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Menard Station, located at 211 Frisco Avenue in Menard.

Sponsored by the Hickory Underground Water Conservation District, this free community event will bring together local experts and organizations to share information about the sky, soil, water, and the resources that make our communities and our land thrive.

Guest speakers include Bill Neiman of Native American Seed, who will discuss the importance of native grasses; John Davis, owner of the Menard Station and recipient of the 2022 Texas Rain Catcher Award, who will share his knowledge of rainwater harvesting; and Meredith Allen and Caroline Runge, representing Menard's water districts.

Thanks to the generosity of Brady Storage Concepts LLC, the first 50 hungry visitors will receive FREE Dickie Doodle Dawgs!

Visitors can also stop by information tables hosted by Hickory UWCD, Menard AgriLife Extension, Menard Soil and Water Conservation District, Hill Country Master Naturalists, and Greater Texas Solar.

And there's more! We'll be giving away a 50-gallon rainwater harvesting barrel along with other prizes. Remember, you can't win if you don't come!

So come on out Friday the 13th, bring a friend, grab a free hot dog, and spend a little time learning about the sky, the soil, and what lies beneath our feet. Together, we can learn how to better preserve and conserve these vital resources for generations to come.

We hope to see you there Nov 13th, at the Menard Station, 211 Frisco Avenue, Menard from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
