White Prickly Poppy
Argemone albiflora ssp. texana

Seeds and other plant parts can be toxic if ingested.
Pretty but potent, they're also quite prickly, hence the name.
An annual, the prickly poppy grows several feet tall if allowed to. Generally blooming from May to August, I found them in bloom as early as late March and early April.
The plant prefers light, sandy well-drained soil and can survive in nutritionally poor soil. It cannot grow in the shade.
